Learn about our process

First of all - dialogue

The basis of any activity is dialogue. We believe that the conversation and understanding of the client’s needs is the most important during the entire cycle of implementation. Each object or monument is individual to us and must be mapped in the right way. You can contact us through the form, providing important information about the investment, and we will take care of the rest, preparing a tailor-made offer.

Precise measurement

Our experience in working with the latest technologies allows us to take precise measurements of your object according to jointly outlined guidelines.  A key element of the operation is the collection of relevant data about the object – this is especially important in the field of monuments. With the work front established, we can proceed. We prepare the process by selecting the appropriate position settings for the laser scanners and accurately determine the measurement points.  We begin the inventory of the object. In addition, extensive photographic documentation is taken in the form of 360 spherical views, which will allow us to capture every detail in color, or in the appropriate intensity profile to see what is impossible to grasp with the naked eye. The spheres will also serve as material for creating virtual walks around the site, aiding communication between project participants. A complete point cloud will allow us to create a 3D BIM model.

Digital twin

The above activities do not happen without a reason. With the point cloud and orthophotos prepared in the appropriate formats, we can implement the collected survey data into the digital environment. Using BIM software, we import this extensive library, which will be the basis for analyzing and modeling information about historic buildings and for developing a 3D BIM model that will be used to make key decisions about the site in the future.

Information classification

In order for a BIM model to become a historical model (HBIM), it must not only have accurately mapped geometry, but most importantly it must be supplemented with semantic data, which is the essence of cultural heritage models. With this approach, we get a truly archived monument, with extensively cataloged conservation documentation and a precise 3D BIM model. At BIMfaktoria, we have created our proprietary classification based on many hours of consultation with professionals in the field of historic building revitalization, gathering experience from the UK, Germany, Italy and Poland.

Open standards

The BIM model is an extensive database of object data, which can be successfully used by specialists, conservators, contractors, archaeologists and more. It also allows export to any format, most importantly the IFC format – Industry Foundation Class, which allows data exchange in the openBIM methodology. In addition, we provide models in the form of BIMx databases, which contain documentation about the object synchronized with the interactive model. This is just one of the many options we offer.
